Wesley R. Heartfield, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Heartfield graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a major in biology. He graduated from The Chicago Medical School with membership in the honor society Alpha Omega Alpha.
Dr. Heartfield completed his general surgery residency at Baylor University Medical Center and then went on to a colorectal fellowship at the University of Southern California. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Society of Colorectal Surgery.
Dr. Heartfield received specialized training in sphincter-preserving operations for colon and rectal cancer, laparoscopic colorectal surgery, and reconstructive procedures for ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease. He also has interests in screening, diagnostic and therapeutic colonoscopy, treatment of hemorrhoids and anal fistula, and treatment of constipation and fecal incontinence.
